Maddox felt her watching.  He looked up and waved then went back to playing. It wasn't until his ankle twisted a bit and he sat down to rest that he really started watching her backk.

She sat there a moment seeing how he was looking at her... She just got up and walked off, not wanting him to see the pain, as she just made her way thru the house.  She went started dinner knowing her children would be starved when they got home... After a few hours she heard the bus as she went out, making sure they all got off and inside, she then walked them in, standing in the door way looking once more at him as he was playing but went inside before he could notice. 

Maddox said bye to his brothers and went knocking on Mattie's door.

Maddox: Hi beautiful.

The young girl looked u at Maddox. 

{Emily} Mommy doesn't want to talk to you. 

She said as she started to close the door. 

He looked at her and smiled softly. He pulled a bag of candy from behind his back.

Maddox: This is all yours if you go tell Mommy, that i'm not leaving until she does talk to me.

She looked at him as she nodded smiling when he handed her the bag as she started to leave but stopped.

{Emily} Please don't make mommy cry anymore...

She said as she then ran off ot get Mattie.. and tell her what he had said...

Maddox stood there and waited for Mattie.  He smiled softly when he saw her.

Maddox: I made you cry?

She looked at him a bit shocked when he said that, but just shook it off as she was standing there looking at him.

{Mattie} Did you need something, Mr. Granger?

He nodded and stepped closer to her. He slid his arm around her waist and pulled her against him.

Maddox: I'm sorry I made you cry, Mattie.  That was never my intention.

He lowered his head and kissed her softly.

She was shocked when he did that as she was kisisng him back for a moment but then pushed him back.

{Mattie} Don't.

She said as she moved back looking at him.

{Mattie} I'm sorry but I can't.

She said as she was just hurting so bad, but didn't want to show it, she then heard emily come back out as she took a breath, so she wouldn't cry she didn't like doing that infront of the chidlren.

{mattie} I'm sorry , Mr granger, but its dinner tim eand i have responiblies to attend too.

She said as she turned from him.

He looked at her.

Maddox: If you walk away now, I won't be back.

She heard him when he said that as it hurt, but she saw all the chilren there, she couldn't do this not infront of them... As she just nodded.

{Mattie} Then goodbye, Mr. Granger

She said as she got them all togeher and picked up emily as she carried the young child into the dinner room so they could eat.

He looked at her walking away and sighed.

Maddox: Bye Mattie.

He walked over to his house and sat down at his desk.  He wrote her a letter telling her how he truly felt about her and how much he loved her. He put it in her mail box the next day before he got dressed to leave.

As he was standing out there he noticed all the cop cars out there as they were looking all over the property... Mattie was seen standing just inside as she was crying... Someone had broken into the house in the middle of the night and kidnappeed one of the children... Emily had been taken and a note had been left... The kidnapper would contact her again later, she was standing there heart broken hoping  her baby girl was alright..

Maddox walked over to the house and went straight to Mattie.

Maddox: What happened?

She stood there in tears holding Emily's doll.

{Matte} Someone broke in last night, took emily... The person knew the secuirty pass.

She said as she was shaking so bad, so worried..

He thought about the cute little girl he had just given the candy to the night before.

Maddox: Let me make a couple phone calls. We'll find her.  I promise.

She just nodded it was all she could do as she was shaking, she was trying to stay calm, wanting to be more help not wanting too get too worked up with her being pregnant already, as she just went white, as she had to sit down, but only went to couch as she sat there crying, feeling like it was all her fault.

He made his phone calls then talked the cops telling them about the cameras he had around his propery. The person may have been caught on the video.

He went back to Mattie and wrapped his arms around her.

Maddox: I called my brothers, Lucas and Jordan.  Lucas is the best PI there is, and Jordan is a great tracker.  We'll find her.

She leaned against him clinging to him as she buried her face in his chest, happy and needing his support right now as she was trying to calm down, happy that he knew people who could help find her..

He told her about the cameras he had around his property.

Maddox: Which door or window did he go through?

Mattie pointed to the back door.

{Mattie} He turned off the alarm and just got n, he must have had a key or something, i know i locked it, i check it every night.

He nodded.

Maddox: I have three cameras that hit the back of your house.  I'm sure we'll find out who he is.

She nodded as she looked at him after a moment.

{Mattie} The kidnapper is suppose to contact me later with demands.

He nodded.

Maddox: I will be here with you.  Whatever they want I will get for you.

She looked at him as she smiled a little bit happy that he was here with her.

{Mattie} Thank you..

He kissed her softly.

Maddox: I called my commander.  He's arranging for me to leave at a later date.

She looked at him confused

{Mattie} What are you talking about?  Leaving, where?

She asked having no idea what he was talking about.

He held her hand in his.

Maddox: I was scheduled to fly to North Carolina today for two weeks then to Afghanastan.

She looked at him when he said that a bit shocked, and hurt that he was going to leve, with out telling her, she just took a breath, worried about emily now as she just nodded.

{Mattie} Oh..

The phone then rang as she jumped up going to the phone.... She ansered it and then heard the kidnapper. She heard his demand as she didn't even hesitate.

{Mattie} Fine.

She said as she would trade herself for emily. knowing se would do anything for her little girl.

He listened to her end and looked at her.

Maddox: What does he want, Mattie?

She looked at him as she was getting her coat and was heading out.

{Mattie} He said he'd let emily go, if I traded places with her.

She said running out the door, wanting to save emily.

He stood there shocked at first then ran after her.

Maddox: No, Mattie.  We can find her.  You don't need to do this.

She looked at him as she shook her head she didn't want to risk Emily make the kidnapper man for not doing as he said as she was heading for her car.

{Mattie} I have to do this, I couldn't live with myself if he hurt Emily, or worse..

She said as se got in the car and took off to where she wa told as she got out of the car looking around.
