His dad had called and told him that a friend of the family was going to be in town and to show her around a bit. He looked around wishing he knew who the hell he was looking for.

Charles started to cough and sat down on the steps of the fountain. He saw the woman taking pictures and turned his head so he wouldn't cough on her.

Charles: Sorry.

He nodded and took a drink of bottled water he had with him.

Charles: Yes. Charles. Are you Jaxon Sweet?

He thought about it then nodded then started coughing again.

Charles: Sorry. I'm getting over a cold.

He smiled looking at her.

Charles: Thank you. I see that Pheobe's not the only special Sweet.

He smiled softly at her.

Charles: Today I am thankful to your and yours.

He smiled.

Charles: My father has asked me to be your guide while you are studying here.

He shook his head.

Charles: I don't mind at all. Are your things at the hotel?

He looked at her and smiled.

Charles: Give me your room key and I'll have them picked up. You will be staying at the estate while you are here.

He nodded.

Charles: It is the Granger home. It sets just outside of London. You will have access to a car and driver while you are here.

He nodded.

Charles: Okay. That also works. Did they provide you with a map?

He rolled his eyes at that.

Charlie: Do you have your money changed over or do you need to do that?

He nodded not surprised his father had that taken care of.

He pointed to one of the street booths that had international flags on it.

Charles: Incase you need it later, those booths there change money for you. You can also go to any of the banks. Or I can have one of the servants take care of it.

He looked at her concerned.

Charles: Would you like me to call for my car?

He smiled thinking about it.

Charles: I love it here. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

He reached out and took the camera from her hands. He leaned closer to her and snapped a picture of the two of them together.

Charles: I think he'll like that one more. He's a sucker for a beautiful woman.

He nodded and smiled.

Charles: He adores Phoebe. I haven't seen him so much in love with someone since my mother died.

He shook his head.

Charles: The only woman I have here is my grandmother.

He smiled when she said that.

Charles: Maybe you will find someone here.

He nodded and smiled.

Charles: How's your back?

He looked at her not sure.

Charles: Come with me.

He led her over to one of the open carriages and helped her inside.

Charles: We'll take the tour this way for a bit. Give your back a bit more of a rest.

He pointed out several places to her then looked at his watch.

Charles: The palace please, Driver.

He looked at Tempest and smiled.

Charles: It's almost time for the changing of the guard. You'll definately want to see it.

He pulled a blanket out of a box on the side of the carriage and put it over their legs.

Charles: It's just a bit chilly.

As they passed through the arches he turned and pointed behind them.

Charles: Those were built during the Roman occupation of England. That was almost a thousand years ago.

He smiled as he looked at her.

Charles: That was only the beginning of the tour. There is still much more to see. It can't be done in just one day if you want to see everything properly.

He smiled when she said that.

Charles: I will be happy to show you around on weekends when we are both free.

He smiled and nodded.

Charles: I will show you around the estate after dinner. Right now I will show you to your room so you can rest before dinner.

He pointed to her empty bags by the closet.

Charles: Your things have been put away for you. Dinner will be in two hours.

He tapped on her door and opened it enough to stick his head in.

Charles: I'm sorry to bother you. I forgot to let you know that Grandmother insists on the women wearing dresses to dinner. She's a bit old fashioned.

He smiled and nodded.

Charles: I'll let you rest now.

He smiled seeing her asleep.

Charles: Tempest...

He put his hand on her arms.

Charles: Tempest. It's almost dime for dinner. You have twenty minutes before Grandmother expects us in the drawing room for coctails.

He smiled and shook his head.

Charles: Either do I. Because of my medication I'm required to take I drink grape juice. Grandmother says that it looks close enough to wine that she will allow it.

He left the room and stood in the hallway to wait for her. He smiled as he watched the house maids scurrying about making the upstairs rooms ready for the night.

Charles: Maria, could you please call Charlene and see if she could come to the house in the morning. Her services will be needed by our guest.

He watched Maria scurry off and smiled when Tempest's door opened.

He smiled and held his arm out to her.

Charles: I have taken the liberty to call for the masseuse that I use. She will be here in the morning to work a bit on your back.

He frowned a bit.

Charles: Will it even take away the pain for a bit?

He nodded.

Charles: Then tomorrow I start my day with a massage. Can't have her come all this way for no reason.

He smiled and shook his head.

Charles: It's fine. I love massages. Been too long since my last one.

He smiled as he poured her a glass of grape juice and one for himself.

Charles: Grandmother, this is Miss Jaxon Sweet. She is our guest.

He smiled when his grandmother looked her over then nodded her approval.

He shrugged a bit.

Charles: I guess I never paid much attention. It has been in the family for centuries. It belongs to my father right now. It passes to Reese after Dad is gone. Always passes to the oldest male heir. It'll never belong to me, but that is alright.

He nodded and smiled.

Charles: The view of the land is one of the things I do love about this place. The estate is a little over 1000 acres. All of the food we eat is produced on the farm. The meat, fish, dairy, vegetables, fruits. There is even a vinard where we make our own wine. Tomorrow I will take you on a tour of the lands outside.

He smiled softly.

Charles: Breakfast and lunch are casual affairs of whenever you wake and arrive at the table. Grandmother usually has hers in her room.

He smiled softly at her.

Charles: I will see you in the morning, Miss Tempest.

Charles smiled as he walked down the hall to his room. He got his shower then sat at his desk working on some paperwork.

He couldn't stop thinking of the houseguest down the hall though.

Charles sat the tray down and smiled.

Charles: I saw the light was on so figured I would bring you a snack.

He smiled and sat on the end of her bed.

Charles: What are you reading?

He nodded and smiled.

Charles: I have a copy of the book list for your classes. All of your books are already in the house. I will show you where to find them tomorrow.

He smiled and nodded.

Charles: Most of your text books are offered online. I prefer the physical books so made sure you had them just incase you did also.

He smiled and looked at her.

Charles: You have both now. Your tuition has also been taken care of. If there's anything else you need please let me know.

He nodded.

Charles: It was until they realized they hadn't tacked on the fee for being an international student. I took care of that for you.

He sighed a bit.

Charles: I'm sorry. I was just trying to be helpful and kind.
